DALLAS — Baking companies are increasingly going back to the workbench to revamp and improve their product formulations, whether it be to adjust to regulatory changes or to better align with consumer needs. In continuing this string of product updates, Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU), a subsidiary of Mexico City-based Grupo Bimbo, announced a set of comprehensive commitments to reformulate across its portfolio.
BBU outlined a series of milestones that will remove all artificial preservatives, colors and flavors from its portfolio in less than two years. By the close of 2026, the company will complete the removal of artificial colors from occasional-consumption products, including snacks and sweet goods.
