MINNEAPOLIS — Effective June 1, a General Mills vet is joining the CPG company’s North America c-suite. The company announced the promotion of Dana McNabb to chief operating officer and her addition to the board of directors.

“Dana is a disciplined, strategic leader and results-driven operator with a proven passion for our brands and consumers,” said Jeff Harmening, chair and CEO of General Mills. “As someone who looks ahead and acts with urgency, Dana has led an initiative to reinvigorate our brands by strengthening their remarkability.”

In this role, McNabb will not only keep leading the North America Retail and Pet segments, but she’ll also oversee all General Mills operating segments and key functions.

Since she first joined the company in 1999, she’s worked her way up to her most recent role as group president of North America. Her expertise spans several of General Mills’ major businesses, such as Snacks and Cereal.

“She is exceptionally well-suited to lead our global operations and restore profitable growth for General Mills and our shareholders,” Harmening said.

This is the second c-suite appointment from General Mills this year. In March, the company announced Jonathan Ness’ promotion to chief supply chain officer.
