MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills released its 2026 Global Responsibility Report, highlighting its action and progress across three core pillars — planet, people and food — during its 2025 fiscal year. The report marks the company’s 56th year of sharing its environmental and social impact, reinforcing its commitment to transparency.

“For 160 years, we’ve been making food the world loves while standing for good,” said Jeff Harmening, chair and CEO of General Mills. “We are proudly leading the way in strengthening communities and investing to support a healthy planet. I’m energized by our accomplishments and steadfastly committed to creating a lasting, positive future for us all.”

With more than 100 brands across 100 countries, General Mills made notable progress in the food pillar, including removing certified colors in US cereals and all K-12 school foods, providing natural and organic options, meeting consumer preferences and nutritional needs, and reducing its food waste.

In 2025, the company also made progress on its planetary commitments, achieving zero waste to landfill at its global manufacturing facilities. The CPG giant advanced its regenerative agriculture programs, with more than 800,000 acres engaged in sustainable farming. Through 2025, General Mills reduced total value chain emissions by 14% and Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 55% compared to its 2020 baseline. Additionally, the company transitioned to environmentally friendly packaging, with 95% of it designed to be recyclable or reusable.

For its people pillar, the company contributed more than $83 million in food and charitable donations worldwide, prioritizing food access and supporting various hometown communities. Its employee scope raised more than $2.7 million for 2,379 non-profits through General Mills’ match program.
