POLCH, GERMANY — Madison, MS-based DeBeukelaer Corp., parent company of the Pirouline creme-filled rolled wafer brand, is set to be acquired by Polch, Germany-based cookie producer Griesson – de Beukelaer (GdB). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to the Mississippi Development Authority, GdB plans to invest $70.37 million to build a 130,000- to 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Madison to produce cookies and other snacks.
As part of the deal, the company will also acquire an existing facility in Gluckstadt, MS, where a portion of the investment will be allocated to building renovations and innovation efforts. The project is expected to create 30 new jobs.
