Simple Mills adds Sheryl O’Loughlin to board of directors

CHICAGO — Simple Mills, known for its better-for-you foods, reported the addition of Sheryl O’Loughlin to its board of directors.

The CPG vet will supply strategic counsel and guidance to aid Simple Mills in growing the company as well as build opportunities for the brand to have a positive impact within its mission to further holistic health of the planet and its people. O’Loughlin will join Simple Mills’ board of directors alongside other industry leaders such as Amanda Steele former, SVP of marketing at Annie’s and Numi Organic Tea; Dan O’Connell, founder and CEO at Vestar Capital partners; Kevin Mundt, managing director at Vestar Capital Partners; George Peinado, member at Hyde Park Angels; and Lew Semones, former general partner at Charlotte Capital Partners.

In addition to serving on the boards of other CPG brands, O’Loughlin has over 30 years of experience scaling CPG companies. She previously served as CEO of Clif Bar & Company and REBBL, as well as serving as CEO and co-founder of Plum Organics. In these roles, she developed product innovation, distribution and velocity strategy which lead to the growth of revenue 23-fold and increased margins by 20 points.

In addition to her executive experience, O’Loughlin brings her entrepreneurial skillset to the Simple Mills team as the former executive director for the Center of Entrepreneurial Studies at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
