STUTTGART, GERMANY — Hillenbrand, Inc. has completed its acquisition of Peerless Food Equipment, a global provider of commercial food equipment solutions including high-performance mixers, sandwiching equipment and product handling for bread, cookies, tortillas, cakes and other products.

Peerless will enter Hillenbrand’s Coperion Food, Health & Nutrition Division, joining previous acquisitions, Linxis Group and Gabler Engineering, allowing Coperion to further expand technical capabilities in support of global customers.

With complementary technologies to the equipment currently offered within Coperion’s Food, Health and Nutrition Division, Peerless will provide scale and support to grow customer offerings in the food industry.

“We are confident Peerless will be an excellent fit within Coperion’s Food, Health and Nutrition Division, as we share the philosophy of engineering innovation and a deep commitment to customers,” said Eric Cruse, general manager, Peerless Food Equipment.

The Peerless acquisition is the latest of several recent strategic investments by Hillenbrand, including the integration of Linxis Group with Coperion to create the Coperion Food, Health and Nutrition Division.

Globally, Coperion employs 4,000 people in three divisions: Polymer; Food, Health and Nutrition; and Aftermarket Sales and Service. Linxis Group brings specialized equipment in the food and health industries and is positioned as a global leader in process equipment and design for customers around the world.

“Strategically, Peerless provides premier industrial equipment and technologies to customers around the world, as well as a strong reputation in the industry,” said Kevin Buchler, president of Coperion’s Food, Health and Nutrition Division. “This move is instrumental in further expanding Coperion’s position in the food market.”
