CHATTANOOGA, TN — During the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga’s (ULGC) 42nd Annual Equal Opportunity Day: State of the Movement Breakfast, McKee Foods Corp. and Chris McKee, president and COO of the baking company, were recognized for contributions to the Chattanooga community.

ULGC is an affiliate of the National Urban League and works to empower African Americans and other ethnic minorities in the economic and social mainstream.

McKee and the family-owned baking company received the Community Impact Award, which honors those who have sustained efforts to improve the Chattanooga community’s quality of life and elevate the standard of living.

“McKee Foods has long supported the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga and its vital work in education, self-reliance and economic empowerment,” McKee said. “I’m humbled and honored they would recognize McKee Foods for our small part in their mission.”

In May 2024, the baking company partnered with Trust for Public Land to support eight projects for the McKee Foods Outdoor Happiness movement.
