COLLEGEDALE, TN — McKee Foods, the Collegedale, TN-based producer of iconic Little Debbie snack cakes, recently announced the opening of Little Debbie Park. Featuring giant sculptures of the company’s more popular products, the park sits on 10-acres of green space that the company donated to the city.

Visitors — children and adults — can play on Nutty Buddy Bars, an Oatmeal Creme Pie and Cosmic Brownies, complete with candy pieces for a climbing wall. Park visitors will also notice the round plazas depicting a Swiss Roll, a Fudge Round, and as the icing on the cake, a 6-ft. Christmas Tree Cake.

McKee Foods prides itself on being a family bakery, so the park has space for families of every age. There are pavilions, swings, benches, playground equipment, walking trails and picnic tables.

The park’s design ensures equipment is accessible to children of all physical and cognitive abilities. A sensory dome climber, high-backed seats, extra space for mobility devices, and activities at accessible heights are just a few of the inclusive features. McKee Foods funded the park’s construction as a way to give back to the community that has been its home since 1956.

“Our family has always enjoyed being outside, and enjoying the beautiful trees, grass, shrubs of nature, etc., and there’s probably not a better gift than to be able to come together and make something like this happen,” said Rusty McKee, executive VP of McKee Foods. “We are just thrilled to give this to the community.”

Joining the sculptures, there is a bronze statue of the brand’s original namesake, Debbie, the granddaughter of founders, O.D. and Ruth.

Despite being home to 4,500 plants, the park is more than just a green space. McKee Foods has created a shared place for families to create fond memories together with giant desserts.
