Kellanova debuts K-12 whole grain-rich portfolio

CHICAGO — As school nutrition standards evolve, Kellanova Away From Home, under the Mars umbrella, is providing operators with the products they need to stay a step ahead of changing requirements.

At this year’s School Nutrition Association Annual National Conference, held July 12-14 in Charlotte, NC, Kellanova showcased a portfolio of snack and breakfast innovations to help foodservice operators meet school nutrition goals.

Available this fall, the portfolio lineup includes Pringles Mingles Whole Grain Puffed Snacks, Eggo waffles and whole grain-rich Pop-Tarts toaster pastries.

The extruded snacks from Pringles — available in Pepperoni & Cheese Pizza, BBQ Sauce & Chicken Nuggets and Chili Lime flavors — deliver a convenient, Smart Snacks-compliant product for K-12 programs, eliminating the tradeoff between compliance, student demand and operational ease. The puffed format provides a familiar, enjoyable eating experience for kids while aligning with evolving school nutrition expectations.

Kellanova is also expanding its breakfast portfolio with new and reformulated products that can offer greater menu flexibility and operational efficiency:

Eggo Eggoji Waffles: Made with real cinnamon and containing 16 grams of whole grain per serving.
Pop-Tarts Whole Grain Toaster Pastries: Available in Frosted Strawberry, Frosted Cinnamon, Frosted Fudge and Frosted Blueberry. Each pastry contains at least 11 grams of whole grain per serving and is made without synthetic colors or high fructose corn syrup.
