LOS ANGELES — Protein bar company Barebells released a limited-edition flavor in response to high consumer demand for seasonal variety, expanding its lineup with a new offering inspired by a classic ice cream dessert.

Barebells’ Orange Creamsicle features a soft vanilla-flavored core and an orange-flavored filling. With 20 grams of protein and no added sugar, the bar caters to the growing consumer demand for snacks that balance indulgent flavors with protein.

“We’re seeing strong consumer interest in seasonal and nostalgic flavors, especially those inspired by classic desserts and familiar moments,” said Isa Galvan, global brand manager at Barebells. “These types of flavors tend to resonate because they tap into something recognizable, while still feeling relevant in today’s snacking habits. At the same time, expectations around taste and texture in the protein bar category have evolved; consumers don’t want to compromise on the eating experience.”

Orange Creamsicle joins Barebells’ Original Bar range in the US, which includes flavors such as Cookies & Cream, Coco Caramel Almond, Peanut Butter, Caramel Cashew, and Peanut Butter & Jelly.

As seasons change, Galvan noted that the brand seeks to accommodate consumers seeking both indulgence and better-for-you attributes.

“With Orange Creamsicle, the idea was to bring together that recognizable citrus and vanilla flavor combination in a format that fits into everyday routines as well as more summery occasions,” she said.

Barebells Orange Creamsicle is available for purchase through Amazon, The Vitamin Shoppe, Kroger, Safeway and the brand’s website.
