MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills Foodservice debuted Pillsbury Croissant Buns to be utilized as a low-labor sandwich carrier.

“We know operators are looking for ways to up their sandwich game, and even though croissants are a popular sandwich carrier, the skilled labor that’s often necessary to make them can be a challenge,” said Kevin Relf, corporate chef at General Mills. “The Pillsbury Croissant Buns come ready-to-serve and provide a low-labor foundation to build from and customize for a range of elevated sandwich opportunities.”

Pillsbury Croissant Buns are offered in a versatile 3.5-inch rounded shape and feature a buttery, flaky crust. Each croissant contains 190 calories and 4 grams of protein.

The pre-baked and pre-sliced croissants are available in bulk packaging of 80 units per case. Four individually wrapped trays within the case allow foodservice operators to portion the product as needed.

The new rounded buns join Pillsbury’s existing line of croissants, which include a Freezer-to-Oven Chocolate Swirled variety.
