OVERLAND PARK, KS — BEMA has announced the continuation of its Ascend Scholarship program for the association’s 2023 Convention, to be held June 20-24 at the Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, SC.
Designed to recognize rising stars in the baking industry, the BEMA Ascend Scholarship awards aspiring leaders in member companies with a complimentary registration to its annual convention. The program focuses on highlighting employees who stand out in their companies and the industry.
In addition to a free convention registration, recipients will also enjoy exclusive networking opportunities and receive recognition during the convention’s general membership meeting.
“One thing I really wanted to get out of convention was learning more about the baking industry and, in turn, learn more about my customers so I can take the voice of the customer back to my teammates,” said Sheryl Bryan, production manager at AMF Bakery Systems and 2022 BEMA Ascend Scholarship winner during her recognition.
BEMA member companies in good standing are invited to nominate up-and-coming employees who demonstrate exceptional leadership skill and a strong desire to excel in the industry and who have not previously attended a BEMA Convention or Summit.
Nominations can be submitted on the BEMA website through April 15.
