NEW YORK — Banza, a chickpea-based comfort foods brand, dove into the breakfast category with its newest product, protein waffles.
Available in three varieties — Homestyle, Blueberry and Chocolate Chip — the chickpea Banza Protein Waffles contain 2.5x more protein, 3x fiber and 35% fewer net carbs than other waffle brands.
The waffles mark the second offering in the frozen aisle for the company, with the first being the Banza Pizza. It also increases the Banza product portfolio to five categories: pasta, pizza, mac and cheese, rice, and waffles.
“We’re thrilled to introduce our first breakfast product: Banza Waffles,” said Brian Rudolph, CEO and co-founder of Banza. “Our customers told us they wanted breakfast to be quick, delicious, and nutritious. By turning chickpeas into waffles, we’re aiming to hit all three while forwarding our mission of inspiring people to eat more chickpeas and other beans.”
Consumers can purchase the Banza Protein Waffles at all Whole Foods Market locations in-store and online for $6.49 or through the Banza website and Amazon for $35.99 (per 3-pack).
