NEW YORK — This back-to-school season, chickpea-based comfort food company Banza is launching a pizza kit that turn its high-protein and high-fiber product into edible art.

Each kit features a Banza pizza, Farmer’s Fridge pre-sliced vegetables, Gotham Greens vegan pesto, Burlap & Barrel oregano, Tupperware Deco Pens that can be filled with sauce or dressing to draw on the pizza, and Tiny Bites scissors for a clean and creative way to slice the pies.

The ingredients double as art supplies to help parents spark imagination and play for kids from the comfort of the dinner table. To accommodate different tastes and dietary needs, these kits will be available in a vegan and vegetarian option.

“We created Banza Masterpiece’zas to inspire creativity and joy around a nutritious dinner,” said Brian Rudolph, co-founder and CEO of Banza. “Chickpeas are one of the best foods for human health and the environment. To celebrate the versatility of the ingredient and the love for pizza, we’re challenging our community to use Banza’s pizza crust as a canvas for art.”

The packaging features the pizza artwork from young artists, ranging from six to 23 years old, involved in Los Angeles-based P.S. Arts and New York City-based Creative Art Works. Additional designs are also included in a booklet kids can use for inspiration as they design their own pizzas.

Starting today, Masterpiece’za kits will be available for purchase available on Banza’s website for $49.99. Fifty percent of sales from the kits will be donated to Whole Kids Foundation, a Whole Foods Market nonprofit committed to improving nutrition and wellness for children via grant making and education.
