NEW YORK — Cob, known for its sorghum-made popcorn, announced its debut in the tortilla chip aisle with another sorghum-based innovation.
Cob’s Tortilla Chips are crafted with three ingredients: sorghum, avocado oil and pink salt, making them non-GMO, kosher, and gluten-, lectin-, and seed oil-free. The new product also won the Clean Label Project’s Purity Award, which tests for pesticide residue, heavy metals and BPAs.
“We built Cob to prove that sorghum can do everything corn does … and do it better,” said Jess Davidoff, founder and CEO of Cob. “The tortilla chip is the next chapter of that story.”
Sorghum, an ancient superfood, is a resistant starch that can naturally enhance the effects of GLP-1 medications to promote longer satiety. It is packed with antioxidant polyphenols and gut-friendly prebiotic fiber, rich in magnesium, iron, and zinc, and has one of the lowest glycemic indices among grains.
Cob’s Tortilla Chips are available online for $9.99.
