JACKSON, MI — Ahmet Hepdogan, senior VP of supply chain and procurement, North America for Dawn Foods, has been appointed to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)’s newly re-launched Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC). Hepdogan will serve as the representative for the American Bakers Association (ABA), providing direct input from the bakery industry to the CFTC.
This appointment ensures that commercial bakers have a seat at the table as the CFTC considers policies that directly impact the industry, including agricultural markets, ingredient costs and supply chain dynamics.
“I’m proud to re-launch the CFTC’s Agricultural Advisory Committee to ensure that our agricultural growers and producers have a seat at the table and have their voices heard,” said AAC chair Michael S. Selig. “The AAC’s work will help ensure the CFTC’s decisions are informed by the perspectives of the agricultural industry.”
Hepdogan’s participation brings an important end-user and food-manufacturing perspective to the advisory group.
Hepdogan also currently serves as chair of ABA’s Commodity and Agricultural Policy Professionals Group, working closely with other bakery leaders on key issues such as ingredient cost volatility, commodity risk management and agricultural policy.
