ROSEMONT, IL — US Foods, one of the largest foodservice distributors, opened applications for its 2025 US Foods Scholars program. Students pursuing degrees in culinary arts, baking and pastry, chef training or hospitality management have the potential to win one of 18 need-based scholarships of $20,000 each, totaling $360,000.

“We are thrilled to officially open applications for the 2025 class of US Foods Scholars, a program that supports the next generation of culinary talent in their pursuit of a career in the foodservice industry,” said Lisa Gibbons, VP of corporate communications at US Foods. “We are honored to fuel the foodservice talent pipeline and encourage students nationwide to apply if they are in need of financial support to fulfill their culinary dreams.”

Since launching in 2017, the program has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to approximately 100 students. Alumni of the program have since started their own businesses, worked for prestigious restaurant groups, and launched successful baking and pastry careers.

The US Foods Scholars program is open to all US-based culinary or hospitality students pursuing a two- or four-year postsecondary degree. In addition to aiding students with education-related expenses, the program also provides exclusive professional development opportunities, including learning engagements with US Foods experts and participation in customer-facing events.

In partnership with Scholarship America, US Foods is accepting applications for 12 of the 18 scholarships. The remaining six scholarships will be facilitated through the company’s partnership with Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP). US Foods Scholars named through C-CAP are selected from eligible high school seniors with plans to pursue an education in the culinary or hospitality arts at a postsecondary school of their choosing.

The deadline for applications is May 12. Visit the US Foods scholarship website for more information and to apply.
