CHARLOTTE, NC — In its latest limited-time offer, Krispy Kreme takes inspiration from nature with its Oh Honey! collection.
The three new flavors — Honey Pull Apart Doughnut, Honey Bee Doughnut and Honey Cake Doughnut — are the first honey-inspired donuts from the brand, just in time for World Bee Day on May 20.
Honey Pull Apart is composed of honey donut hole clusters with a salted honey icing drizzle. The Honey Bee elevates the standard Original Glazed variety and is dipped in yellow icing, decorated with black buttercream and features two mini cookie wings. The Honey Cake Doughnut takes the glazed Sour Cream Cake product and tops it with a honey icing drizzle and oat crisp topping.
While supplies last, the collection-specific variety will come with bee-friendly wildflower seed paper for consumers to plant. Krispy Kreme also plans to plant bee-friendly flower gardens at select locations as well as thank organizations like Planet Bee Foundation for the advocacy for bees.
“Our innovation team has been hard at work to create our first-ever Honey Doughnut collection,” said Dave Skena, CMO of Krispy Kreme. And so have honeybees. So, consumers can help the honeybees by planting the flower seeds they get when they buy these delicious donuts.”
The Honey Pull Apart is only available individually and in a 4-item package. However, the other flavor varieties are available to add to a dozen and in the Honey Lover’s Dozen.
