COPPELL, TX — Takis, the iconic brand known for its spicy rolled tortilla chip, was named as one of 36 winners of the 2022 North American Breakthrough Innovation Award for its Takis Blue Heat snack.

Takis is the most well-known brand of Barcel USA, the US snack division of Grupo Bimbo, the world’s largest baking company operating across 33 countries.

NielsenIQ BASES, a leading partner for companies that want to build brands through innovation, sifted through thousands of product launches to identify winners who successfully navigated a constant state of crisis in the consumer packaged goods market and continue to disrupt this space.

Launched in 2019, Takis Blue Heat rolled tortilla chips offer consumers a unique sensory snack experience. Sold in 4- and 9.9-oz. packages, this product disrupts the salty snack category with its electric blue color and fireball-like taste.
