NEW YORK – The Specialty Food Association (SFA)’s Fancy Food Show 2021, the in-person component of the planned dual Fancy Food Show 2021 + Fancy Food 24/7, has been canceled.

The sole in-person trade show scheduled by the SFA was to be held Sept. 27-29 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. The digital component of the show will still run as planned from Sept. 27 through Oct. 8.

The company decided to cancel the show due to increasing concern over the Delta variant of COVID-19 and to protect the health and safety of all show participants. Full refunds or credits for future shows will be issued to exhibitors.

“The Specialty Food Association has been steadfast in creatively supporting our members and our $170.4 billion industry during this incredibly challenging time, and we remain committed to providing opportunities in the safest way possible,” said Bill Lynch, president of the Specialty Food Association. “While we will miss that special feeling of in-person connections with our industry colleagues, safety remains our number one priority.”

As concern about the Delta variant grows, this is one of a string of tradeshows that have canceled or modified their in-person events. Many tradeshows are adjusting their policies as their host states take action through mandates, including implementing masks or adding extra cleaning measures.

Although the fall Fancy Food Show has been canceled, plans for the Winter Fancy Food show, which is scheduled for Jan. 16-18 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, remain in place. More details can be found on the organization’s website.
