LAS VEGAS – Approximately two weeks ahead of the opening of Pizza Expo 2021, to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center Aug. 17-19, the state of Nevada has announced a mask mandate in all public indoor spaces, meaning that Pizza Expo attendees will be required to wear masks during the event.

Masks will be required regardless of vaccination status in compliance with the state mandate, and the tradeshow will provide masks at the door for attendees without one. As of now, samples will still be available during the tradeshow.

Increased cleaning and security measures will also be implemented at the event.

Additionally, Pizza Expo also announced the keynote speakers Aug. 17-18. Anthony Falco, an international pizza consultant and world-traveling chef, will be speaking on the morning of Aug. 17. Falco has been described by publications such as Bon Appétit and the New York Times as the one who put Roberta’s, a famous Brooklyn-based artisanal pizza joint, “on the map.” He is also the author of the book Pizza Czar, a collection of recipes and insights.

Mike Bausch, owner and operator of Andolini’s Pizza, will be speaking the following day. Also an author, he recently released Unsliced: How to Stay Whole in the Pizzeria Industry. Mike and his brother Jim co-own Tulsa, OK-based Andolini’s, which now has five locations, two gelaterias, two food-hall concepts, a food truck and a fine-dining restaurant.
