CRAILSHEIM, GERMANY — In the face of the shortage of skilled workers and high turnover rates, packaging machine manufacturer Schubert is launching a training concept at the company’s new training center.
Located at Schubert’s Crailsheim headquarters, the new training center is more than 10,700-sq.-ft. and houses four training rooms with packaging machines, additional technical rooms and more.
“We have listened carefully to our customers and taken on board their various needs and wishes,” said Uwe Galm, director of customer services for Schubert. “With this input, we will continue to refine our training portfolio.”
As the packaging industry evolves and automation plays a critical role, demand for production managers, machine operators and skilled workers is higher than ever. Schubert’s training team is working with its customers to examine and revise its existing training portfolio.
“We are taking a multi-track approach with our training concept. This includes not only the expansion of our training locations in Germany and the US, but also new formats, new content and an expanded training team.” — Uwe Galm | director of customer services | Schubert
“We are taking a multi-track approach with our training concept,” Galm said. “This includes not only the expansion of our training locations in Germany and the US but also new formats, new content and an expanded training team.”
Galm shared that the future of training for Schubert customers will be available both in-person and online, emphasizing interest in expanding the training content and topics.
“We cannot think of a customer’s individual machine in limited terms,” he explained, “but rather in terms of system components such as robots or image processing.”
Schubert’s modular machine concept makes training easily transferable from individual system components to any of the company’s machines.
Galm noted that, at the new center, training programs will grow and evolve, as new programs gear up in Germany and the US. “
At its Charlotte, NC location, Schubert has a full-time trainer on-site and will use its internal customer portal to host digital training and videos. The portal will also add exclusive content to the digital platform.
