MISSISSAUGA, ON — Puratos is fortifying its long-standing global sustainability program by moving to produce several of the compound chocolate items made in its Richmond, BC, facility using Cacao-Trace certified cocoa.
This shift will help ensure what consumers are increasingly seeking: fair incomes for farmers and food traceability.
“In the chocolate sector, we set industry benchmarks for responsibility and innovation,” said Pierre Tossut, CEO of Puratos. “Our Cacao-Trace program ensures higher-quality chocolate while making a meaningful impact at the source by giving farmers better incomes through the Chocolate Bonus and Quality Premium.”
