CHARLOTTE, NC — Krispy Kreme’s hot-off-the-line sweet goods are getting an ice cream-inspired makeover with the brand’s first-ever Ice Cream Truck donut line.
“Should a donut really taste like a Creamsicle? Yes. Yes, it should,” said Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme. “And we didn’t stop there as we donutized some of America’s favorite frozen treats this summer.”
Beginning July 18, consumers can try three new summertime flavors inspired by Good Humor and Popsicle frozen desserts.
The Popsicle Firecracker Inspired Donut, inspired by the red, white and blue popsicle, is an Original Glazed donut with icing inspired by the product dipped in blue raspberry sprinkles and topped with flavored Kreme.
Swapping the crispy cone for Krispy Kreme, The Vanilla King Cone Inspired Donut is filled with vanilla custard Kreme, dipped in chocolate, and topped with sugar cone pieces, chopped peanuts and a chocolate icing drizzle.
For a citrusy variety, the Creamsicle Inspired Donut is also filled with vanilla custard Kreme but is topped with icing inspired by the frozen treat with a white icing drizzle and mini sprinkles.
These limited-edition goods are available at participating locations until August 7, which can be found here.
