Multi-million-dollar H-E-B investment includes new bakery

SAN ANTONIO, TX — As part of a $700 million investment to expand its supply chain operations, Texas grocer H-E-B announced a series of investments for its Foster Road campus in San Antonio, TX, including the construction of a state-of-the-art commercial bakery.

The proposed plans also include a refrigerated warehouse and transportation building in addition to expanding its current manufacturing facility. This project marks H-E-B’s largest investment in its manufacturing and supply chain division.

“We look forward to advancing our plans to grow our supply chain operations, a project that reaffirms our commitment to be an economic engine for our great state,” said Carson Landsgard, chief supply chain officer of H-E-B.

While the project is still being planned, the company shared that construction is anticipated to begin later this year and be completed as soon as 2028. Upon completion, the investment would create more than 700 full-time jobs with an additional 500 positions expected in this location by 2038.

“While we are still developing our plans, this will be a major investment for H-E-B that will create jobs and better position us to serve even more Texans,” Landsgard said.
