CHICAGO — To honor the 130th anniversary of its Biscuit Flour Mill, also known as Toledo Flour Mill, Mondelez International held a ceremony and full day celebration on Saturday, Oct. 8 in Toledo, OH.
The flour mill is the largest dedicated soft-wheat mill in North America and boasts one of the biggest grain storage capacities at 5.5 million bushels of wheat. It first began operations in 1892 and would become part of the National Biscuit Company, currently known as Nabisco, in 1926.
Over time, the Toledo Flour Mill made significant contributions to the Toledo economy and grain milling industry. Flour produced at the mill today is shipped to Mondelez’s bakeries across North America, serving as the foundation for products like Oreo, Chips Ahoy and Ritz crackers.
