CHICAGO — Mondelez International, Inc. published its fiscal year 2022 Snacking Made Right report, noting progress toward its environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities as advancing its mission to lead the future of snacking.

The report is part of the company’s wider goal to provide transparent and measurable information to its stakeholders on ESG goals, policies, initiatives and programs. Last year, the company elevated sustainability as the fourth pillar of its long-term growth strategy. The report helps illustrate its achievements so far in building a more sustainable snacking company that will support innovation and long-term growth.

In the past year, the company has made headway towards its 2025 goals, including:

  • Focusing on more sustainable sourcing of key ingredients, lowering climate impact, respecting human rights and increasing packaging design for recyclability
  • Building a pool of deep and diverse talent, making strong progress in its global DEI ambitions for colleagues, culture and communities
  • Evolving its portfolio as the company strives to meet a range of consumer nutrition and well-being choices, while promoting mindful portions and active lifestyles

In 2022, Mondelez continued to help make cocoa right through Cocoa Life, the signature global cocoa sustainability program with over 230,000 farmers participating at the end of 2022. The next phase of the Cocoa Life is backed by an additional $600 million through 2030, for a total of a $1 billion investment since the start of the program, to increase its cocoa volume scale, aim to work with nearly 300,000 farmers by 2030 and accelerate its impact.
