EAST HANOVER, NJ — Mondelez International brands Ritz and Oreo are joining forces for a limited-edition product mashup: RITZxOREO.

“At Oreo, we are constantly exploring playful ways to excite our fans, from innovative limited-edition flavors to unexpected collaborations,” said Sydney Kranzmann, senior brand manager for Oreo. “This product marks our first product collaboration with our friends at Ritz, and we can’t wait to hear what Oreo superfans think about this new take on the classic combination of chocolate and peanut butter.”

Following social media buzz the day before the announcement, the hybrid sandwich snack is comprised of one part Ritz Cracker and one part Oreo cookie with smooth peanut butter flavored crème and the original Oreo crème in the center.

“We couldn’t resist the opportunity to collaborate with our friends at Oreo on a snack that’s part salty cracker, part chocolate cookie, and entirely delicious,” said Alexis Yap, senior brand manager for Ritz. “This is a collab our fans won’t want to miss.”

In addition to the product release, a QR code on the back of the product packaging unlocks an Instagram filter, available next week, that gives consumers a personalized breakdown of how salty and sweet they are with some fun extras to uncover.

Starting at 12 p.m. EST on Thursday, May 26, consumers can visit Oreo’s website to get their hands on one free pack (with a $3.95 shipping fee) while supplies last. Only 1,000 packs will be available for consumers.
