IRVING, TX — As consumer interest in better-for-you offerings holds steady, baking companies like Mission Foods are pivoting their innovations accordingly.
The Gruma tortilla and wrap brand announced its newest addition, Mission’s Gluten-Free Chickpea Tortillas. This offering is made with roasted chickpea flour and is free from artificial colors, an important distinction as the FDA cracks down on synthetic food dyes.
“We’re always listening to our customers and looking for ways to meet their needs, tastes and lifestyles,” said Garret Adrian, senior brand manager for Mission Foods. “With our new Chickpea Tortillas, we’re giving people the bold flavor and nutrition they want, while staying true to the quality they expect from a Mission Foods tortilla.”
In addition to its gluten-free status, the new tortilla variety is also vegan and high in fiber. Mission’s latest addition expands its gluten-free lineup, which includes Original, Spinach Herb and Sweet Potato tortillas.
Mission’s Gluten-Free Chickpea Tortillas are available at retailers nationwide in a 6-count, 10.5-ounce bag.
