NEW YORK — IFF, a world leader in flavors, fragrances, and health and biosciences, has entered into an agreement to sell its portfolio of botanical extracts, vitamins and minerals, and food enhancement activities to SuanNutra, a global provider of science-backed, functional ingredients under the Carbyne Equity Partners umbrella.

“These businesses are highly respected, and we are confident they will continue thriving under the ownership of SuanNutra and Carbyne,” said Erik Fyrwald, IFF’s CEO. “This transaction is another step in optimizing our portfolio and reinforces our focus on our core innovation-led businesses — Taste, Scent and Health & Biosciences — where we see the greatest opportunities to drive long-term profitable growth and create value for our shareholders.”

The combined manufacturing footprint spans botanical extraction in Spain, Slovenia and Peru as well as fermentation in the US. The businesses will merge with SuanNutra’s existing operations, resulting in about 700 employees serving more than 1,200 customers in more than 60 countries.

Financial terms of the sale, which is expected to close by the end of 2026, were not disclosed. Earlier this year, IFF announced it would sell its Food Ingredients business to CVC Capital Partners. That deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2027.
