KANSAS CITY, MO – IBIEducate 2021, a new kind of educational event for the entire baking industry, has announced its list of speakers and demonstrators for the first ever show in Kansas City on Oct. 26-28.

The list of speakers includes several bakery owners, business founders, professional development leaders, association directors, food safety and sanitation experts and more. The speakers will enhance the event, where attendees will build skills and know-how with 20+ hands-on workshops in three days.

The speaker selection process was based on feedback from “super groups” of attendees from IBIE’s 2019 show, consisting of industry members on both the retail and commercial side, according to Emily Bowers, VP of education and operations and co-manager, IBIEducate.

“We were able to take that feedback and see some high points across all industry sectors, such as topics that focus on people solutions,” Bowers said. “We also wanted to offer really engaging and interactive content that goes beyond a lecture.”

The speakers will be leading hands-on workshops such as holiday cake trends and interactive breakout sessions on topics including employee retention strategies and sanitation.

Bowers also mentioned that the speakers and sessions will serve as a sort of “sneak peek” into the topics at IBIE 2022.

“[The topics] might even be more imperative in the next 12 months than they are now if things in the world continue the way that they are going,” she said. “It’s definitely foreshadowing the style of education you’ll see as well, which is interaction and engagement for adult learners.”
