MUNICH — At iba 2023, bakers from 12 international teams will compete for the gold medal during the iba.UIBC.CUP of Bakers.

Following the theme, The Animal World, the bakers will create bread, small bakery products, party products, Danish pastries and a showpiece under time pressure in glass show bakeries for judging by an expert jury.

Competing in teams of two, the 12 nations up for the title include Peru, Japan, France, China, Greece, Germany, Korea, Iceland, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Italy.

Four teams will compete against each other simultaneously each day:

Oct. 22: Mexico, Korea, Chile and Italy

Oct. 23:  China, Peru, Greece and France

Oct. 24: Germany, Japan, Brazil and Iceland

The competition begins at 8 a.m. on Oct. 22 and runs through Oct. 24. It will be in the show bakeries in Hall A4. Judging begins at 1 p.m. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 5:30 p.m. in the iba.FORUM.
