LENEXA, KS — Hostess Brands announced the appointment of Darryl Riley to its new chief sustainability officer role. Previously the SVP of quality, food safety and R&D, Riley will report to Andy Callahan, Hostess’ president and CEO.

As chief sustainability officer, Riley will expand the company’s capability to develop and execute strategies for its environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives and initiatives. He will also lead efforts to inspire employees to integrate ESG into company culture and embrace sustainability through the development of awareness, education, training and measurement programs.
The sweet goods company also announced that Mike Cramer, executive VP and chief administrative officer, will transfer ESG responsibilities to Riley.

Cramer was critical in establishing Hostess’ corporate sustainability framework and its Corporate Responsibility Reports for 2021 and 2022. He will continue to serve on the leadership team with a primary focus on government and labor relations, mergers and acquisitions, and other special projects from the CEO and board of directors.
