SAN FRANCISCO — If the recent launch of its 10.50-inch tortilla wasn’t evidence enough of this brand’s commitment to pushing category boundaries, then Hero Bread’s latest innovation for its better-for-you tortilla line is another prime example.
With the release of a Spinach & Herb variety, Hero Bread’s tortilla SKUs now total three. This new flavor gets its green hue from its myriad milled ingredients, including spinach, thyme, chives, parsley and garlic.
“Spinach and herb is the most popular non-plain tortilla flavor on the market, and there is a great opportunity since most versions get the bright green color from artificial sources,” said YuChiang Cheng, CEO of Hero Bread.
Each tortilla delivers 1 gram of net carbs, 0 grams of sugar, 7 grams of protein and 15 grams of fiber per serving. By packing its tortillas with the nutritional aspects consumers most seek, Hero is finding new ways to stand out in a traditional market.
“To serve our fans, you have to think about every recipe occasion, and that means building out a lineup with the tortilla sizes and flavors that actually match how people cook,” Cheng said. “In fact, we learned that a lot of consumers just want to grab a tortilla and satiate their hunger on the go, but want to do it with something tastier than a plain tortilla.”
Hero Tortillas Spinach & Herb are available on the brand’s website, with packaging configurations including four 6-count packs for $29.99.
