Greg Koehrsen named incoming BBU president

HORSHAM, PA — Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU), the US business division of Mexico City-based Grupo Bimbo, will be under new leadership in 2026.

Effective Jan. 1, Greg Koehrsen, EVP of transformation and commercial, will succeed current president Tony Gavin, who is retiring on Dec. 31, closing out more than four decades with the baking company.

“I’m honored to step into this role and build on the strong foundation Tony has created,” Koehrsen said. “Bimbo Bakeries USA’s commitment to our people, our brands and our customers is unmatched, and I’m excited to lead this incredible team as we continue to grow and serve communities across the country.”

Koehrsen, who’s been with a part of the organization for 10-plus years, has served in numerous leadership roles across Grupo Bimbo, including as president of Barcel USA before taking on the EVP role with BBU at the start of 2025.

Koehrsen and Gavin will collaborate over the next two months for a smooth leadership transition.

“It’s been an incredible honor to serve Bimbo Bakeries USA and the baking industry for more than four decades,” Gavin said. “I’m deeply proud of the teams I’ve worked with and the culture we’ve built together. Bimbo Bakeries USA is in great hands with Greg. His experience, energy and commitment to the business and brands make him the right leader for the future.”

This news comes a little more than a week after Grupo Bimbo named Alejandro Rodriguez Bas its next CEO, following Rafael Pamias’ resignation to address personal and health matters.
