PLANO, TX — GRANDMA’S Cookies’ latest marketing campaign features iconic hip-hop duo Salt-N-Pepa, who are helping the Frito-Lay North America brand debut its new packaging and updated logo.
The partnership includes a reimagined version of the classic nursery rhyme, “Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar?” Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton co-wrote the remix and star in an accompanying GRANDMA’s Cookies Instagram reel.
“As GRANDMA’S Cookies unveils its bold new exterior and revamped digital presence, Salt-N-Pepa are the perfect partners to help us connect with our audience in a way unlike ever before,” said Leslie Vesper, VP of marketing at Frito-Lay North America, which recently released its 2024 US Snack Index report. “With over 110 years of history, GRANDMA’S Cookies is excited to celebrate our beloved flavors that fans know and love along with our modern look.”
The campaign strategy includes rolling out multiple weeks of exclusive content and prizes on the brand’s Instagram feed. Consumers can search for hidden cookie jars throughout the feed and comment on the location of the cookie jar in each post. Between now and June 19, consumers have the chance to win weekly prizes from GRANDMA’S cookie jar, including a grand prize of $10,000.
“As a grandma, it was a no-brainer to partner with GRANDMA’S because the brand is showing off a fresh, modern take on what it means to be the matriarch,” Denton said. “We had a blast creating the remix and got to pack the new verses with personality. I can’t wait for fans to experience our rendition.”
GRANDMA’S Cookies are available at retailers nationwide and on the company’s website.
