NEW YORK — JSB Industries Inc., a national manufacturer of filled bagels, muffins and other sweet baked goods, announced the acquisition of Fave’Wich, Gold Medal Bakery’s crustless sandwich brand.

“This acquisition represents an exciting step forward for JSB Industries as we advance our strategic objectives, including the push for Grab & Go,” said Scott Anderson, VP of JSB, in a statement released by the company, adding that JSB is on a mission to make nut-free snacking convenient and healthy for consumers.

The transaction brings the established Fave’Wich name under JSB’s ownership while building on the partnership between the two companies. As part of the transition, Gold Medal Bakery will continue serving as the manufacturing partner for the bread used in Fave’Wich products.

“We found a new home for Fave’Wich,” said Brian LeComte, president and COO of Gold Medal Bakery. “Another great family-owned and operated company will buy us. Our work will reach new heights, and we are excited to continue supporting Fave’Wich and our long-standing partnership with JSB in this new chapter.”

In addition to the ownership change, Fave’Wich will transition from ambient to a refrigerated format. The crustless sandwich is made with sunflower butter and grape jelly and offers consumers a plant-based, nut-free snacking option that provides 6 grams of protein and omits dairy, artificial flavors and high fructose corn syrup.
