BOULDER, CO — Through a partnership with Justin’s Peanut Butter, Rudi’s Rocky Mountain Bakery is shaking up back-to-school staples with the debut of Rudi’s Gluten Free Sandos.

“Rudi’s number one consumer request is for a gluten-free version of our ever-popular peanut butter and fruit spread Sandos,” said Jane Miller, CEO of Rudi’s Rocky Mountain Bakery. “We want everyone to be able to enjoy these classic Sandos, so we are pleased to launch our new, delicious Gluten Free Sandos with Justin’s Peanut Butter just in time for back-to-school lunchboxes and as an anytime snack for our gluten-free customers. At Rudi’s, we’re committed to using real, non-GMO ingredients in our products, which makes our partnership with Justin’s a natural fit for these Sandos.”

Available in 4-count boxes, the collaboration is available in two flavors: peanut butter and grape, as well as peanut butter and strawberry. To prevent cross-contamination during the production process, this Rudi’s product is manufactured on dedicated gluten-free equipment.

“We are honored and proud to collaborate with Rudi’s, a brand that shares Justin’s like-minded values, on their new Sandos offerings,” said Jonathan Gallagher, director of Justin’s Nut Butters. “We’re excited to bring traditional flavors to consumers in a mindful and accessible way.”

The new gluten-free sandwich was developed by Justin Gold, chief innovation and strategy officer for Rudi’s and founder and former CEO of Justin’s, to fill a market gap for convenient, gluten-free PB&J sandwiches.

This addition broadens the baking company’s pre-made sandwich range to five, joining the traditional varieties and the nut-free version that launched last year.

Rudi’s Gluten Free Sandos are available at Giant Company, Hy-Vee, King Soopers and Wakefern stores for an SRP of $8.99. To increase its distribution, the baking company asks consumers to send letters asking more retailers to add it to their store shelves.
