THOMASVILLE, GA — Flowers Foods has completed the acquisition of Papa Pita Bakery, a manufacturer and distributer of high-quality bread products. Papa Pita will operate as an independent subsidiary of Flowers.

“Papa Pita has been an important co-manufacturer of Flowers products for many years, and we expect the acquisition to drive further manufacturing and distribution synergies,” said Ryals McMullian, president and CEO of Flowers Foods. “We’re looking forward to welcoming the passionate Papa Pita team to Flowers.”

The acquisition was first announced in December 2022. Papa Pita was founded in 1983 and operates a 270,000-sq.-ft. facility in West Jordan, UT. The bakery produces bagels, tortillas, breads, buns, English muffins and flat breads under primary brands including Papa Pita, Great Grains, Bubba’s Bagels and Maya’s Tortillas. Papa Pita also has a major co-manufacturing business and direct-store-distribution.
