PLANO, TX — Fritos of PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay has teamed up with Papa Murphy’s, the largest take and bake pizza brand in the country, to introduce a limited-edition Fritos Outlaw Pizza.

The take and bake product combines the signature crunchiness of Fritos corn chips and barbecue flavors. It’s made with thin crust, garlic sauce, mozzarella, Texas brisket, onion mix and barbecue sauce drizzle — complete with a generous topping of Fritos. Frito-Lay says the chips remain crispy during the baking process, adding a unique layer of texture to each bite.

The new pizza variety is available at Papa Murphy’s locations nationwide staring June 28 through the month of September. In addition to the pizza being able to be baked, it can also be prepared on a grill.

Kimm McBee, Papa Murphy’s senior VP of customer experience and brand marketing, said the company was excited to partner with such a classic brand.

“Papa Murphy’s is thrilled to team up with a beloved brand like Fritos to ‘change the way you pizza’ just as we kick off summertime,” McBee said. “The crunchiness of the Fritos pairs perfectly with the BBQ flavors, putting a delicious twist on a fan-favorite, and is great for family outdoor gatherings.”

Stacy Taffet, VP of brand marketing, Frito-Lay North America, said they were also optimistic about the limited-edition product and introducing a new way to enjoy the crispy corn chips.

“Fritos is an iconic snack that has been a fan favorite for more than 80 years. It’s inspiring to see all of the creative ways fans enjoy Fritos, from snacking with dips, to the classic Fritos pie, and pizza too,” Taffet said. “Based on our recent Snack Index, we also know that 8 in 10 consumers view snacks like Fritos as a staple for summer, so we’re excited to introduce this way to enjoy them.”
