AMSTELVEEN, NETHERLANDS — Dawn Foods, a global bakery manufacturer and ingredients supplier, announced the acquisition of Royal Steensma, a family-owned bakery ingredients manufacturer.

The acquisition deal, which closed on Jan. 31, includes five manufacturing plants — four in The Netherlands and one in Thailand — and further involvement with the Food Innovation Academy (FIA) education center. Royal Steensma employees are also now employees of Dawn Foods.

Royal Steensma, a leader in the bakery market for nearly 185 years, has a wide bakery product portfolio with a specialty in fat-based coatings, almond and confectionary pastes, bakery mixes, and fruit fillings.
