NEW YORK — Tate’s Bake Shop, a brand under the Mondelez International umbrella, expanded its leadership team with the addition of Cass Black as chief customer officer. He will report to Tate’s CEO Esi Seng.

In this role, Black will work alongside the Tate’s leadership team to support the brand’s growth and leverage customer relationships through the brand’s warehouse and Mondelez’ direct-store distribution sales team (DSD).

Black previously served as customer VP for Mondelez, where he led the strategic transformation of the sales team’s DSD retail operating model. He also worked in several business development sales strategy roles at the company and brings strategy experience in category and customer insights, sales planning, and customer development to the role.

Tate’s welcomed Jessica Goon as CMO in August 2023. Goon joined Tate’s from food portfolio brand Spring Foods, where she served as chief growth officer. Prior to that, the experienced marketer served as VP of digital marketing and consumer experience at KIND Snacks.

Black and Goon will collaborate to further the brand’s commercial success.
