CAMDEN, NJ — Campbell Soup Co. announced a $160 million investment in its Richmond, UT, manufacturing facility. The new line in the expansion will increase the bakery’s Goldfish cracker output by 50% and create over 5 million crackers per hour.
“Goldfish is an iconic brand that is quickly approaching a billion-dollar business, and this investment demonstrates our commitment to the growth of our brands and the communities where we operate,” said Chris Foley, executive VP and president of Campbell Snacks.
This marks the third Goldfish expansion from the company in the last two years, with previous investments made in Lakeland, FL, and Willard, OH.
In adding this line and mill to the bakery, Campbell is creating 80 more jobs.
In addition to the new line, Utah Flour Milling will build an onsite flour mill next to the Richmond bakery as part of a partnership between PHM Brand’s Panhandle Milling and NIPPN Corp. The addition of the mill will increase supply reliability, provide capacity for more growth and improve plant efficiency. The onsite mill will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by eliminating over 2,200 trucks per year that would transport flour from the mill to the bakery.
The company anticipates the completion of the new line by the end of 2024.
