VALENCIA, SPAIN and RENNES, FRANCE — After making a major investment in its Vineland, NJ, facility expansion earlier this year, French baked goods manufacturer Bridor has made its largest acquisition to date.

The company, alongside Le Duff Group, announced the conclusion of an agreement to nab Panamar Bakery Group, a Spanish manufacturer and distributor of frozen baked goods, including Viennese pastries and patisserie products.

“Integrating Panamar Bakery Group enables Bridor to take another decisive step forward by becoming a global leader in bakery and Viennese pastry products and a major player in the Iberian Peninsula,” said Philippe Morin, managing director worldwide of Bridor. “It perfectly reflects our mission statement: to bring to life the bakery cultures of the world.”

Panamar’s reach spans 20 countries across four continents. Its four brands — Panamar, Cobopa, Pacfren and Panusa — lean on an integrated distribution and production network. Through this acquisition deal, Bridor will be able to leverage this reach and resources to fortify its global industrial and logistics capacity.

“We are embarking on this new chapter with confidence,” said Isabel Martinez, president of Panamar Bakery Group. “The entrepreneurial spirit and family values that drive us form a common foundation that Le Duff Group and Bridor will nurture. This merger is fully in line with Panamar Bakery Group’s ambitions for the future.”

Bridor’s purchase of Panamar falls in line with a series of global investments and acquisitions the baking company has made to double its turnover by 2031. In North America, this includes the expansion of Bridor’s Montreal facility in 2021, its acquisition of Lecoq Cuisine in 2022, the Vineland bakery expansion, and the construction of bakeries in Salt Lake City and Texas, set to be completed by 2026 and 2028, respectively.
