Annie Hollon is a journalist, copywriter and social media strategist from the Dallas, Texas area. She found a love for magazine writing during her time at the University of Alabama where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in public relations and English. Beyond writing, you can find her expanding her library, attempting to teach herself the guitar and trying new hobbies.

KANSAS CITY, MO — Avant Food Media is pleased to announce the addition of Erin Zielsdorf as account executive. This is the first expansion to the Avant sales team and the second hire for the company in 2023 after Mari Rydings joined as editorial director in January.

“We are delighted to have Erin join Avant Food Media to support our rapid growth,” said Paul Lattan, president and principal of Avant. “This client-facing role is an important hire that positions Avant for the future. Her marketing degree and direct experience in digital media made her the ideal candidate for this position.”

Zielsdorf is the fourth generation of her family to serve the baking industry. Her family owned and operated Peerless Machinery Corp. for decades before selling the company to ITW.

“In addition to Erin being her family’s fourth generation in the baking industry, it’s also exciting to have a woman in a role that, for decades, has been historically men,” Lattan continued.

Prior to joining Avant, Zielsdorf served as an account manager at americaneagle.com. She’s a graduate of the University of Dayton, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in communication management and majored in marketing.

As account executive, her primary responsibilities will include business development, customer service and industry involvement.

“Erin adds great energy and drive, and she will help us build the next generation of Avant,” said Steve Berne, VP and partner of Avant. “With a family legacy in the industry, she is no stranger to baking, and already understands many of the facets needed to succeed.”
