KANSAS CITY, MO — Avant Food Media has announced the addition of a new staff member, Evan Bail, as associate editor for Avant’s flagship publication, Commercial Baking.

A graduate of the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas, Bail joins the Commercial Baking team with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and experience in marketing and communication in consumer-packaged goods and fitness industries.

Bail will use her skills to create compelling digital content and features for the quarterly magazines, as well as assist the team in cutting-edge coverage for tradeshows including the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), taking place Sept. 17-21 in Las Vegas.

“I am thrilled to join the Commercial Baking team,” Bail said. “This team has been incredibly welcoming as I transition into my first post-grad position. I’m looking forward to attending IBIE and soaking up all the information I can from this fascinating industry!”

Bail replaced Annie Hollon, who transitioned from associate editor into the role of managing editor for Commercial Baking.

Hollon, who came to Avant Food Media in April after working in social media management and strategy, will be responsible for process and logistics for the day-to-day production of the magazine, as well as writing in-depth features in Commercial Baking quarterly editions.

“I’m truly excited to step into the managing editor position,” Hollon said. “Over the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to learn so much about the trade and this publication, and I look forward to opportunities and challenges my new role will bring.”

Hollon will also spearhead plans for new titles to support Avant Food Media’s growth and expansion into new markets.
