MODESTO, CA — The Almond Board of California (ABC) is calling for potential candidates for its Board of Directors to file their intent to run by April 1.
The ABC Board is responsible for setting policy and recommending budgets in major areas such as marketing, production and nutrition research, quality control and food safety.
“The ABC Board of Directors plays a crucial role in the success of our industry,” said Clarice Turner, ABC’s president and CEO. “More than 7,600 growers and 100 handlers count on leadership to guide the work of the Almond Board. It’s crucial to have dedicated people from across the industry to help navigate these complicated times and work toward a positive, prosperous future.”
For the 2025-26 crop year, a one- and three-year seat is open to represent independent growers as well as a one- and three-year seat to represent independent handlers, with alternate seats open for each position.

To qualify for an independent grower or alternate seat, candidates must be current growers and must submit a petition signed by a minimum of 15 independent almond growers.
To qualify for an independent handler or alternate seat, candidates must declare their intention in writing to ABC.
By serving on the board, members of the industry can help guide ABC to promote California almonds to domestic and international audiences and ensure proper agricultural practices.
Voting for the seats begins April 21 and ends May 22. For more information, visit the ABC website.
