WESTERVILLE, OH — Effective July 13, Mark Carter will take the helm as chief supply chain officer for The Marzetti Co., parent company to specialty food brands such as New York Bakery and Sister Schubert’s. He succeeds Luis Viso, who took over the c-suite role in 2023 and is retiring later this year.

Carter, a leader with 25 years of CPG supply chain operations experience, joins the company from Schwan’s, where he most recently served as chief supply chain officer.

“Mark is a strong addition to the Marzetti leadership team,” said Dave Ciesinski, president and CEO of The Marzetti Co. “He brings deep factory-based operational expertise combined with broad enterprise-level supply chain leadership.”

In his new role, Carter will lead end-to-end supply chain operations and support the company’s growth strategy while maintaining safety and quality measures.

“I am confident he is the right leader to continue the work we have done over the past three years to simplify our supply chain and deliver productivity gains that support our growth strategy,” Ciesinski said.
