BOISE, ID — The Wheat Foods Council (WFC), a national non-profit organization promoting wheat-based foods and representing US wheat farmers, opened applications to recruit its next executive director.

“Following a recent organizational reset, the WFC is sharpening its focus on elevating the voice of wheat farmers, strengthening the connection between farmers and consumers, and aligning the industry around clear, credible messaging,” said Britany Hurst Marchant, WFC chair. “The goal of WFC is to communicate the value of wheat as a nutritious, affordable, and accessible staple of a healthy diet.”

With this in mind, the organization is on the lookout for a strategic communicator who can help WFC as it enters this new phase. The executive director will be tasked with strengthening communication and outreach efforts, working alongside the WFC board of directors to ensure the association delivers value to wheat producers and other members of the wheat industry.

“Through communications, partnerships, and industry collaboration, the WFC will work across the wheat value chain to align messaging, amplify credible information, and support initiatives that contribute to stronger demand and expanded opportunities for wheat,” Marchant said. “This is a unique lane that distinguishes the Wheat Foods Council as the only farmer-driven domestic marketing organization in the country.”

“Our success will be largely determined by ensuring the correct leader is identified, empowered, and supported to move forward with creativity and innovation to increase domestic demand for American wheat,” Marchant concluded.
