VANCOUVER, BC — Eshbal Functional Food is continuing its strategic moves to elevate its operations, and the latest of which includes a key business acquisition.

The gluten-free and better-for-you food-tech company announced its purchase of Houston-based Gluten Free Nation. The commercial bakery produces a broad collection of gluten-free baked goods spanning breads, rolls, muffins and sweet goods for channels including retail, foodservice and e-commerce.

This deal aligns with the Eshbal’s 2026-2028 roadmap outlined by CEO Tomer Bar-Meir at the start of the year. Part of the food-tech company’s growth strategy includes additional acquisitions to support market entry.

In January, the company established a relationship with Toronto-based Queen St. Gluten Free Inc. to help bring its offerings to more North American consumers. Previous acquisitions for Eshbal include Swonder Bread in June 2025 and a 55% interest in Dare to be Different Foods in July 2025.
